This is a limited term position of 6 months (with a possibility of extension), reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Transit Project Advisor is responsible for analyzing options for local transit, overseeing the public engagement process, liaising with the Transit Task Force and preparing reports on implementation options with cost implications for Council consideration.
The Project Advisor will research and make recommendations on implementation options for a local transit service using evolutions in the industry, industry best practices and synergies with regional service. Responsible for developing and managing relations with the Task Force, internal and external stakeholders, as well as community partners to achieve project deliverables. Develop modeling for future public transit services and facility requirements in new development proposals and planning projects. Completing the above deliverables while ensuring transit system recommendations include compliance with applicable regulations and legislation.
Education and Experience:
- Five years of increasingly responsible administrative and analytical experience related to
transit and public engagement programs.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with a focus in
Transportation Planning or Land Use Planning. A combination of planning experience and,
Business Administration, Public Administration or Public Relations accreditations will also
- Project Manager certification will be considered an asset.
