Job Description : 

The Town of Didsbury is currently accepting applications for a Manager of Legislative and Development Services.  Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer this position will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Legislative and Development services department within the Town of Didsbury and acts as a key liaison between Town Council, the Chief Administrative Officer, Town Administration, external government agencies and members of the Public.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of  Alberta Land Use Planning Program or equivalent
  • Completion of National Advanced Certification in Local Authority Administration (NACLAA)
  • Post secondary training in land use planning or a similar discipline
  • Familiarity with City of Calgary construction and design standards
  • Strong organization and time management
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
  • Have high ethical standards and strict adherence to respectful workplace principles

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • A minimum of five years directly related experience in progressively more responsible positions is required.  This level of experience may be reduced where an individual has a significantly higher level of education
  • A clean vulnerable sector check (criminal record included)

Salary Range:

$65,292.49 - $84,429.65 per annum depending on qualifications plus a comprehensive benefit package after the probation period has passed and participation in the LAPP pension plan after one continuous year of service

Hours of Work:

35-hours per week, typically 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Attendance at evening meetings is a requirement.
