Now Hiring Corporate Budget Coordinator
The City of Medicine Hat is searching for a knowledgeable professional to coordinate business plans, and operating and capital budgets for our diverse operations which include municipal, utility, and police. Working within the Treasury, Planning & Analysis team, the coordinator develops the processes for business planning, operational and capital budgets, forecasts, reports on variances and manages grant lifecycles.
As our ideal candidate, you have in depth knowledgeable in multi-year business planning and budget development, governmental accounting experience, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and challenges while providing sound decision-making and support to departments and senior management. This is a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that requires strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; you are a person who can see the big picture and interpret the strategic plan to the various stakeholders. You have proficient computer skills in both complex Enterprise Resource Planning software, such as Agresso, financial planning tools and Microsoft Office software for process management, reports and presentations.
- A University degree supplemented by a professional accounting designation (CPA, CPA/CMA, CPA/CGA).
- Five (5) years municipal accounting experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Project Management training and/or experience is preferred.
- A management approved combination of training, experience and education may be considered.
