The Summer Village of Sunset Point is a beautiful lake community situated on the eastern shores of Lac Ste. Anne with a permanent population of 221 (with more through the summer). The community is situated 45 minutes west of Edmonton off Hwy 633 adjacent to the Village of Alberta Beach. Currently the community is recruiting for an experienced CAO to commence on January 1, 2018 (or as may otherwise be negotiated with the successful candidate).
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience in local government together with post-secondary education in a related discipline and/or certification in local government management. An equivalent combination of experience and/or education from other sectors may also be considered.
- An understanding of Municipal Government Legislation, grant funding opportunities, business planning, municipal bookkeeping and budget procedures, and capital project management.
- The ability to work collaboratively with Council to build the community and effectively represent the interests of the Summer Village of Sunset Point.
- The ability to work with, lead, support, and manage the performance of contractors as well as permanent and/or seasonal staff (as may be hired) who are responsible to meet the needs of the community with a high degree of personal initiative and independence.
The Summer Village Council will consider detailed contract proposals (including resume of the/all contractor(s) and a detailed fee for the contracted service) for the provision of required municipal administrative services. Potential candidates will be shortlisted by Council and contacted for interviews anticipated to be scheduled shortly after this posting’s closing date.
Contract value is negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
