Dan Rude CPA, CGA

Interim Chief Executive Officer


Dan has been leading the Finance and Business Planning areas for AUMA since April 1, 2004.

In this role, he oversees the administration of AUMA’s Audit and Finance Committee and Investment Advisory Committee.

Both customer and member focused, Dan manages Corporate Services, Business Analytics, Information Technology Management, Corporate Governance, and Corporate Project Management. Dan has over 30 years’ experience in various financial roles and organizations.

Any inquiries, or expressions of interest in either of the committees under Dan’s purview, can be forwarded directly to his office.

Jamie Hotte

Jamie started his career as an underwriter with Royal Insurance. Jamie spent over 25 years with Peace Hills insurance where he held the position of Vice President – Underwriting & Marketing. More recently, Jamie led the operations in western Canada for Johnson Insurance; who specializes in group affinity business. His role was Regional Vice President responsible for both P&C insurance and group benefits operations.

Jamie has been involved with numerous boards and committees over the tenure of his career including Chair of IBC National Home Insurance Committee, Chair of Alberta IBC Committee, Chair of Insurance Program Advisory Committee McEwan University,  Board member and Director for Alberta Severe Weather Management Society and President of Insurance Institute of Northern Alberta.

Nicole Martel

Executive Officer of Advocacy and Policy

Before joining the AUMA, Nicole spent three and half years with the Government of Alberta as the Senior Director of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, managing a variety of small business supports and grants. Prior to her work with government, Nicole served as the Executive Director for the Urban Development Institute of Alberta from 2007 to 2013, representing the land development industry at the provincial level.  Nicole studied at the University of Alberta attaining Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science.  After her education, she pursued a number of different career paths in business, politics and government relations.  Her past roles include being a policy analyst with Alberta Municipal Affairs and the Manager of Government Relations for EPCOR.
